Egypt stops 34 African migrants trying to enter Israel (Jerusalem Post)

 Cairo - Egyptian police officer said Friday that 34 African migrants were arrested in separate incidents on the border with Israel Sinai Peninsula position trying to cross illegally.

The official said eight Eritrean and Ethiopian nine were captured on vans belonging to traffickers of Bedouin in the city of Nekhil, about 250 miles (400 km) East of the capital, Cairo.

Officials said small groups of migrants have captured a few miles south of the Rafah crossing and in the central Sinai border. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not allowed to talk to the media.

Many migrants seeking political asylum and employment are trying to cross into Israel, with assistance from traffickers of Bedouin.

At the end of November, the Government approved a plan to build a detention centre in the South for African migrants illegally crossing into Egypt Israel.


The facility will provide the base shelter, food and medical services for the infiltrated until they leave the country.


Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has given its support for the installation and said "for years, people have spoken to stop the illegal wave of infiltrators who enter the country."  Talking about for years, but now we are not talking. »
